Yoga changed my life

I first discovered yoga about two years ago. I’d tried meditation a couple of times before that but I always found it difficult to sit still. Francis said to me one day ‘you know you should try yoga.’ So like any beginner I went straight to youtube and typed it in. I immediately found and fell in love with Yoga With Adriene (YWA), she really digs deep into the foundations of the practice and I found it so fascinating. Yoga was so magical at first, like I was learning so much about myself that I never knew. After 6 months of practicing yoga almost every day, I left for New Zealand. For anyone who has tried it knows that yoga and hostels don’t mix that well. We were enjoying ourselves so much I barely had any time or even anywhere I could be alone. I sort of fell out of love with it, it becoming a sort of chore instead of an enjoyment. Since then I’ve had this sort of rollercoaster journey with yoga. These days I don’t practice it nearly as much as I’d like to. Even though I have the time and my own personal space I always seem to make excuses. Despite this, the foundations of yoga have become so invaluable to my everyday life. I know myself better than ever and I’m still learning. I’ve learnt how to breath to reduce pain and I have practically cured myself from anxiety (almost…!). I am aware of how my body and my mind feel, what works for me and what doesn’t. Yoga has taught me to be more forgiving, more loving and it’s changed my life. If you’re looking for direction in life or you need a little more self love, or you just want to try something new, I could not recommend it more. 🙏🏼❤️
